Mastering heat treatment techniques – ensuring superior performance in piping components

In the journey of several decades, Haihao Group has emerged as a leading expert in various heat treatment methods, providing customers with materials that meet stringent performance requirements. A key aspect of our production process involves different cooling methods during heat treatment, ensuring the desired properties in our piping components.

Widely Applied Quenching Classification:

Single Liquid Quenching:

Process: Submerging austenitic workpieces into a quenching medium, cooling them continuously until reaching room temperature.

Common Quenching Media: Water, brine, caustic soda solution, oil, and specially formulated quenching agents.

Suitability: Primarily suitable for simple-shaped components made of carbon steel. Offers simplicity and facilitates mechanization.

Dual Liquid Quenching:

Process: Workpieces are first immersed in a highly efficient cooling medium, then swiftly transferred to a less effective cooling medium (e.g., water followed by oil or water followed by air).

Advantages: Reduces deformation and cracking tendencies, though it requires careful control and has limitations in application.

Martensitic Grade Quenching:

Process: Workpieces are immersed in a liquid medium (salt or alkali bath) slightly higher or lower than the martensite point, held for a specified time, and then air-cooled.

Benefits: Effectively reduces phase transformation stress and thermal stress, suitable for alloy and high-alloy steel components.

Bainitic Isothermal Quenching:

Process: Rapidly cooling steel to below Ms to obtain 10%–20% martensite, followed by isothermal holding in the bainite transformation temperature range.

Application: Especially useful for alloy tool steel components, minimizing the risk of first-stage temper brittleness and reducing the tendency for residual austenite-related deformation and cracking.

Composite Quenching:

Process: Rapid cooling to below Ms to obtain martensite, followed by isothermal holding in the lower bainite temperature range.

Usage: Applied to alloy tool steel components, effectively avoiding first-stage temper brittleness and reducing the risk of residual austenite-related deformation and cracking.

Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our adeptness with these heat treatment methods, ensuring that our piping components exhibit superior mechanical properties. At Haihao Group, we prioritize the fulfillment of specific project requirements, and our mastery of heat treatment techniques is a testament to our dedication to delivering top-quality products.
