Congratulations to CCS on successful installation of Suction anchors for “Liu Hua 11-1” FPSO

Congratulations to CCS on successful installation of Suction anchors for “Liu Hua 11-1” FPSO

We are pleased to extend our congratulations to China Classification Society (CCS) on the successful completion of the suction anchor installation inspection for the “Liu Hua 11-1” cylindrical Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. This recent achievement marks a significant milestone in the offshore industry.

The installation involved the placement of 12 sets of suction anchors at sea, with one of the anchors designed to withstand a load of 2500 tons. With a height of 22 meters, a diameter of 6.5 meters, and a mud depth of 21 meters, these anchors are currently the deepest and largest suction anchors for mooring in China.

Suction anchors serve as critical components in the mooring systems of deep-sea oil and gas field floating equipment. Comprising parts such as the cylinder body, top cover, casting lifting lug, and anchor head chain, these anchors play a vital role in stabilizing and securing non-powered floating production storage and offloading units by anchoring them securely to the seabed. They are often referred to as the “anchoring needle” for FPSOs, symbolizing their capability to firmly establish FPSOs at sea.

The “Liu Hua 11-1” cylindrical FPSO is equipped with a multi-point mooring system, utilizing 12 sets of suction anchors to secure its position on the seabed. These suction anchors are strategically distributed around the FPSO to ensure its safety and stability.

The CCS Shenzhen branch actively participated in the installation and inspection process of the suction anchors for the “Liu Hua 11-1” FPSO. Throughout the inspection process, the CCS Shenzhen branch harnessed its technical expertise, collaborated closely with stakeholders including owners and contractors, and overcame numerous challenges encountered during offshore installation. The on-site measurement team worked tirelessly day and night, adhering to standards and design requirements while meticulously ensuring the quality of critical installation points. Their efforts have laid a solid foundation for subsequent mooring activities, including cable installation and the connection of cables to the FPSO.

At Haihao Group, we congratulate CCS on this achievement and express our commitment to further participating in FPSO pipeline system projects. In recent years, Haihao Group has been more and more involved in various ship piping system projects with the certification of a number of authoritative classification societies (including ABS, DNV, RS, RINA, BV). Our current projects include FPSO, LNG, and other types of marine piping systems, if you need piping products certified by authoritative classification societies, please feel free to contact us.
