Haihao Group pays attention to FPSO news: ABS grants AIP to sterling streamline FPSO
In a significant stride towards maritime innovation, the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has granted Approval in Principle (AIP) to the novel concept design of the Sterling Streamline FPSO, a project led by Shapoorji Pallonji Energy (SPE) in India.

The FPSO’s revolutionary design features a flexible mooring configuration, a riser balcony with 60 risers, and impressive daily oil processing capabilities of 250,000 barrels, coupled with a substantial crude oil storage capacity of at least 2.2 million barrels. ABS, through a meticulous review process aligning with classification and statutory requirements, has given its stamp of approval to this cutting-edge concept.
Miguel Hernandez, Senior Vice President of Global Offshore Engineering at ABS, emphasized the significance of the Sterling Streamline FPSO in meeting the growing demand for large FPSOs and addressing supply chain constraints while aligning with sustainability goals in offshore field development.
