Definition and application scope of hot galvanizing and cold galvanizing
Hot dip galvanizing refers to melting zinc at high temperature and adding an appropriate amount of auxiliary materials to make a layer of zinc on the metal components. Cold galvanizing is a process of anti-corrosion treatment of workpiece surface based on electrochemical principle.
The zinc layer of hot-dip galvanizing is relatively thick and the process is relatively simple. It is suitable for anti-corrosion of steel products in highly corrosive places such as strong acid and alkali. Its surface is rough and its decorative effect is poor, so it is mainly used for the protection of steel members. Nowadays, semi-finished products such as galvanized steel plate, steel wire and steel pipe on the market adopt this process. The process is also widely used in electric power, transportation, petroleum, home appliances and other industries, so it has a wide range of applications.
Cold galvanizing can be used in civil engineering, such as reinforcement, guardrail, etc. it can also be used in construction, such as handrail, scaffold, three-dimensional parking lot, etc. It can also be used in electric power such as iron column and transformer frame, as well as in ship industries such as buoy, lock and piping.
