New 3D Printing Technology for Low Temperature Thick Wall Tee
On November 17, the Engineering Materials Research Institute received the new product identification certificate from China Petroleum and Petrochemical Equipment Industry Association. On the first additive manufacturing test and research platform of PetroChina, the Institute independently designed TE555 low temperature large-diameter thick wall tee for oil and gas pipeline engineering using arc 3D printing technology, which is a global initiative and generally reaches the international advanced level.
The low temperature thick wall tee that passed the identification this time has a diameter of 1219mm and a weight of 4970kg. The thickness of the main and branch pipes is 67mm and uniform. The shoulder fillet reinforcement thickness is 164mm. The 3D printing tee technology solves the problems that the traditional hot drawing process is easy to cause the difference in the structure and performance of different parts of the tee, and the risk of brittle instability cracking.
