EN 10253-2 P265GH Reducing Tees Delivered to Poland with Strict Dimensional and Welding Requirements

EN 10253-2 P265GH Reducing Tees Delivered to Poland with Strict Dimensional and Welding Requirements

In many pipeline projects, tees are often viewed as routine fittings. However, experienced fabrication workshops know that poorly manufactured tees can create unexpected challenges long before a pipeline enters service.

Misaligned branch outlets, inconsistent bevels, excessive ovality, or wall-thickness deviations can increase welding time and introduce fit-up problems during installation.

Recently, Haihao Group completed the production of a batch of P265GH Reducing Tee fittings for a customer in Poland. The project required multiple size combinations manufactured according to EN 10253-2 Type A requirements, with additional controls on bevel geometry, dimensional tolerances, and surface inspection.

Project Overview

The shipment included a wide range of carbon steel reducing tees, including:

  • 114.3 × 6.3 mm × 76.1 × 5.6 mm
  • 139.7 × 6.3 mm × 60.3 × 4.0 mm
  • 139.7 × 6.3 mm × 60.3 × 5.0 mm
  • 139.7 × 6.3 mm × 88.9 × 5.6 mm
  • 168.3 × 7.1 mm × 60.3 × 4.0 mm
  • 219.1 × 6.3 mm × 88.9 × 3.2 mm
  • 219.1 × 8.0 mm × 114.3 × 6.3 mm
  • 273.0 × 8.8 mm × 139.7 × 5.0 mm
  • 323.9 × 8.8 mm × 168.3 × 5.6 mm

All products were manufactured from P265GH material in accordance with EN 10253-2.

Why the Customer Requested Seamless Parent Pipe Manufacturing

A notable requirement of this order was that all tees had to be produced from large seamless parent pipes rather than fabricated from welded sections.

For critical piping systems, many European customers prefer seamless construction because it offers:

  • More uniform wall thickness distribution
  • Improved structural consistency
  • Better weldability during installation
  • Reduced risk of weld-related discontinuities
  • Enhanced reliability in pressure service

This manufacturing approach is particularly important for larger diameter P265GH Reducing Tee components used in industrial and energy-related projects.

Welding Preparation Was a Key Inspection Focus

The Polish customer placed significant emphasis on end preparation.

Each P265GH Reducing Tee was required to meet:

  • Bevel angle: 30° (+5°)
  • Root face: 1.6 mm ± 0.8 mm
  • Internal diameter tolerance: ±1%
  • External diameter tolerance: ±1%

These dimensions may appear minor, but they directly influence welding efficiency.

Accurate bevel geometry allows welders to achieve more consistent penetration and alignment, reducing the need for field modifications and helping contractors maintain project schedules.

For fabrication shops handling hundreds of weld joints, such consistency delivers measurable productivity gains.

Surface Quality Matters Before Installation Begins

Beyond dimensional inspections, the tees underwent additional surface preparation and testing procedures.

The customer specified:

  • Shot blasting treatment
  • Magnetic particle testing (MT)

These inspection steps help identify potential surface discontinuities before shipment and provide greater confidence for downstream fabrication activities.

As a result, every P265GH Reducing Tee supplied in this project was delivered ready for immediate integration into the customer’s manufacturing workflow.

EN 10253-2 P265GH Tees for European Industrial Projects

P265GH remains one of the most commonly specified pressure-vessel and piping steels in Europe.

Combined with EN 10253-2 manufacturing requirements, it provides an excellent balance of:

  • Weldability
  • Strength
  • Formability
  • Cost efficiency
  • Compliance with European pressure equipment applications

Because of these advantages, P265GH Reducing Tee fittings continue to be widely used in:

  • Power plants
  • District heating systems
  • Industrial process facilities
  • Chemical plants
  • Water treatment projects
  • Energy infrastructure developments

Haihao Group’s Manufacturing Advantage
