Pipe coupling (Pipe socket) is a kind of pipe fitting to joint two pipes or fittings, and the body is like a short pipe with a socket on one end or both ends. The connection methods could be Thread.
Commanly pipe coupling is devided into two types:Full Threaded Pipe Coupling,Half Threaded Pipe Coupling.
Threaded Full Pipe Coupling ASME B16.11-Haihao Group
A Full threaded pipe coupling (pipe socket ) means a steel pipe coupling has two ends both threaded. It could be a coupling with the thread only on the two ends, also could be a coupling with thread all over the length, they are all called full pipe coupling.
Sometimes the two ends thread may be different, one end is BSP and another end is NPT, then it is like a adaptor for pipes which have different type of thread ends. When installing it , the workers should check the direction for correct match.
