Q235B Pipe Fittings and S235JR Concentric Reducers Shipped to Kenya

Q235B Pipe Fittings and S235JR Concentric Reducers Shipped to Kenya

A Kenya customer recently received a mixed shipment of carbon steel pipe fittings from Haihao Group, covering seamless elbows, butt-weld elbows and concentric reducers in a wide range of nominal diameters. Rather than a single-size fitting order, this project required different elbow configurations and carefully matched wall thicknesses from 1-1/4″ to 8″.

The order included Q235B pipe fittings from DN32 to DN200, together with S235JR concentric reducers manufactured in accordance with the dimensions specified by the customer. This combination gave the project a practical range of fittings for pipeline routing and diameter transitions.

One Order, Multiple Elbow Configurations

The elbow portion of the shipment was mainly produced in Q235B, with both seamless and butt-weld configurations included.

The customer specified long-radius and short-radius elbows rather than using one elbow type throughout the project. The long-radius item was DN100 (4″) with a 3.6 mm wall thickness, while the short-radius range extended from DN32 (1-1/4″) to DN200 (8″).

This included:

  • DN32 (1-1/4″) × 2.6 mm
  • DN40 (1-1/2″) × 2.6 mm
  • DN50 (2″) × 2.9 mm
  • DN65 (2-1/2″) × 2.9 mm
  • DN80 (3″) × 3.2 mm
  • DN100 (4″) × 3.6 mm
  • DN125 (5″) × 4.0 mm
  • DN150 (6″) × 4.5 mm
  • DN200 (8″) × 6.3 mm

The same dimensional range was also supplied in butt-weld and seamless elbow configurations for selected sizes. This is important for projects where fitting type must correspond with the piping arrangement rather than simply selecting fittings by nominal diameter.

For Haihao Group, the key point in this order was not just producing Q235B seamless elbows, but keeping the diameter and wall-thickness combinations consistent across a relatively broad size range.

Wall Thickness Was Matched to Each Diameter

One detail that stands out in the Kenya order is the gradual change in wall thickness as the nominal diameter increases.

For example, the Q235B elbow specifications move from 2.6 mm at DN32 and DN40 to 2.9 mm at DN50 and DN65, 3.2 mm at DN80, 3.6 mm at DN100, and 6.3 mm at DN200.

This type of specification is useful when fittings are being integrated into a piping system where the connecting pipe dimensions have already been defined. Instead of treating the fittings as interchangeable items, the production schedule follows the actual dimensional requirements of the project.

That approach also applies to the Q235B pipe fittings supplied in both seamless and butt-weld forms.

S235JR Concentric Reducers Complete the Size Transition

The second part of the shipment consisted of S235JR concentric reducers. These fittings covered transitions from 8″ down to 1-1/4″, with the customer providing specific face-to-face lengths and wall thickness combinations.

The supplied reducer range included:

Reducer Length Wall Thickness Material
DN200 × DN150 (8″ × 6″) 152 mm 6.3 × 4.5 mm S235JR
DN150 × DN125 (6″ × 5″) 140 mm 4.5 × 4.0 mm S235JR
DN150 × DN100 (6″ × 4″) 140 mm 4.5 × 3.6 mm S235JR
DN150 × DN80 (6″ × 3″) 140 mm 4.5 × 3.2 mm S235JR
DN125 × DN100 (5″ × 4″) 127 mm 4.0 × 3.6 mm S235JR
DN125 × DN80 (5″ × 3″) 127 mm 4.0 × 3.2 mm S235JR
DN125 × DN65 (5″ × 2-1/2″) 127 mm 4.0 × 2.9 mm S235JR
DN100 × DN80 (4″ × 3″) 100 mm 3.6 × 3.2 mm S235JR
DN100 × DN65 (4″ × 2-1/2″) 100 mm 3.6 × 2.9 mm S235JR
DN100 × DN50 (4″ × 2″) 100 mm 3.6 × 2.9 mm S235JR
DN80 × DN65 (3″ × 2-1/2″) 90 mm 3.2 × 2.9 mm S235JR
DN80 × DN50 (3″ × 2″) 90 mm 3.2 × 2.9 mm S235JR
DN80 × DN40 (3″ × 1-1/2″) 90 mm 3.2 × 2.6 mm S235JR
DN65 × DN50 (2-1/2″ × 2″) 90 mm 2.9 × 2.9 mm S235JR
DN65 × DN40 (2-1/2″ × 1-1/2″) 90 mm 2.9 × 2.6 mm S235JR
DN50 × DN40 (2″ × 1-1/2″) 76 mm 2.9 × 2.6 mm S235JR
DN50 × DN32 (2″ × 1-1/4″) 76 mm 2.9 × 2.6 mm S235JR

The reducer specifications show that the order was not limited to a few common size combinations. It covered a continuous series of pipe diameter transitions, from the larger 8″ × 6″ connection down to 2″ × 1-1/4″.

For engineering procurement teams, this type of S235JR concentric reducer range can simplify sourcing when several diameter transitions are required within the same piping project.

Why a Mixed Fitting Order Matters

A fitting shipment can look straightforward on a purchase order, but mixed-size orders often require more attention during production and packing.

For this Kenya project, Haihao Group had to coordinate:

  • Different nominal diameters from DN32 to DN200
  • 1-1/4″ to 8″ inch-size equivalents
  • Q235B and S235JR materials
  • Seamless and butt-weld elbow configurations
  • Long-radius and short-radius elbows
  • Wall thicknesses from 2.6 mm to 6.3 mm
  • Reducer lengths of 76, 90, 100, 127, 140 and 152 mm

Keeping these details separated during production and final packing helps reduce the risk of size or specification mix-ups when multiple similar fittings are shipped together.

For buyers sourcing Q235B pipe fittings, this is particularly relevant when one purchase order contains numerous sizes that have similar external appearances but different wall thicknesses or configurations.

Haihao Group’s Role in the Kenya Project

Haihao Group manufactures and supplies steel pipe fittings for international pipeline projects, including elbows, reducers, tees, flanges and other connection components.

For this Kenya shipment, the product mix was built around practical pipeline requirements rather than a single standardized fitting size. Q235B elbows covered the main bending requirements, while S235JR concentric reducers provided the required diameter transitions.

The combination of Q235B seamless elbows, butt-weld elbows and S235JR reducers also demonstrates Haihao Group’s ability to manage multi-item fitting orders under one procurement program.

If your project requires multiple elbow sizes, different radius configurations or a complete series of reducers, send us the dimensional schedule and material requirements. Haihao Group can review the specifications and provide a fitting solution matched to your piping design.
