Pipe Cap/Pipe End Cap is the pipe fittings designed to be the ends of a piping. It is used to block off the end of a piping system by placing the cap over the open pipe. It is commonly made from the steel plate,in standard ANSI/ASME B16.9,the cap is butt welding ends, it is welded with the open pipe.

The purpose of Pipe Cap: welding on the pipe end or installed outside the pipe thread to cover wall pipe fittings. Used for closed pipeline,similar to the function of the hesd plug. Closure phase in the form of close, only the blind flange can be sealed, sealing, and welded tube cap is not detachable.
The pipe end caps are available in various shapes, like the hemispherical, oval, round etc . Because pipe cap is made of pressing steel plate to the shape of a cap, the cap is seamless pipe fitting commonly.
The large variations of caps, are the so-called ellipsoidal or dished heads. There are used to close pipes of large diameters, and are similar to those used for constructing vessels.
