Haihao Group congratulates CNOOC’s new achievement

As a strategic supplier for CNOOC, Haihao Group is delighted to see CNOOC’s recent accomplishments in the international oil and gas industry. China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), through its subsidiary Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (COOEC), has secured the EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning) contract for the Phase 4 development of the SHWE gas field in Myanmar. This milestone marks the first time a Chinese company has won an EPCIC contract for an international deepwater oil and gas project at a depth of over 1,000 meters.

Breakthrough in Deepwater Oil and Gas Engineering

The SHWE Phase 4 development project, operated by POSCO International, will see natural gas extracted at depths reaching 1,050 meters and transported to China via the China-Myanmar gas pipeline. As the main contractor, COOEC will provide comprehensive solutions including project management, detailed design, procurement, construction, transportation, installation, and pre-commissioning.

COOEC was awarded the competitive front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the project in September 2023. Leveraging its robust technical capabilities and management expertise, COOEC emerged victorious among numerous international contractors, securing the total EPCIC contract. This achievement sets a precedent for Chinese companies in offering integrated design and contracting solutions in the international offshore oil and gas engineering market.

Advancing Deepwater Technology

In recent years, COOEC has continually advanced its core technologies in deepwater oil and gas engineering. The company has successfully executed several significant projects, including:

The Deep Sea No. 1 Energy Station: The world’s first 100,000-tonne semi-submersible production and storage platform.

Hai Ji No. 2: Asia’s deepest water jacket platform.

Hai Kui No. 1: Asia’s first cylindrical FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) unit.

COOEC has developed a complete set of deepwater oil and gas engineering technologies, particularly in the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of deepwater floating production facilities. The company boasts a fleet of five deepwater engineering vessels capable of operating at depths of up to 3,000 meters, demonstrating advanced international capabilities in deepwater project execution.
