ExxonMobil Guyana announces arrival of prosperity FPSO for payara oil field development

ExxonMobil Guyana recently announced the arrival of Prosperity FPSO in the waters of Guyana for the development of the Payara oil field. This oil field is located in the Stabroek Block of Guyana’s offshore area, at a depth of approximately 2,000 meters. Production for Payara is expected to begin this year.

Prosperity FPSO was constructed by SBM Offshore, and its naming ceremony was held in February of this year. The vessel is based on SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward design and was built at the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore. It has an initial production capacity of approximately 220,000 barrels of oil per day and storage capacity of about 2 million barrels of crude oil. Additionally, it has the capability to process about 400 million cubic feet of natural gas per day and inject up to 250,000 barrels of water per day. It will be moored at a water depth of 1,900 meters.

FPSO Prosperity is the third FPSO in the Stabroek Block, following Liza Destiny and Liza Unity, which have a combined daily production of over 380,000 barrels. With the added production capacity of the Prosperity vessel, the average daily production in Guyana’s waters is expected to increase to approximately 600,000 barrels by next year.
